Bidvest Prestige Group and the 2010 FIFA World Cup
12 March, 2010
We are privileged to look directly onto the stadium from our office windows at South Coast region, KZN. We have been fortunate enough to watch the development of the 60000-seater Durban Stadium (Moses Mabhida) from the start. Our direct involvement in providing cleaning services through MATCH Hospitality, for the 2010 World Cup is finally becoming real as we start selecting staff for this massive event! After months of hard work by Lisa-Marie Botha and Xanthe Axsel, Bidvest Prestige Group has been awarded the tender to serve as the preferred supplier for core and event cleaning at the new Cape Town Stadium. Bidvest Prestige Group is proud to be involved with the iconic stadium and consider it a flagship. Mark Hulley from the Hospitality and Healthcare Region will manage the prestigious site. The world-class stadium boasts 68 000 seats -13,000 temporary seats during the FIFA world cup and 55 000 permanent seats after the world cup. The stadium will serve as a semi-final venue in 2010 and will be a sustainable multi-purpose venue thereafter, featuring ball sports, major events and concerts. Cape Town Stadium hosted its first event in January 2010 with a Rugby Match where 20 000 seats were occupied. The second event will be a soccer match in March where 40 000 seats will be occupied and in April a full house of 68 000 seats will be occupied. We at Bidvest Prestige Group are very proud to be associated with one of the most Prestigious events of our time! |
